The Queens General Hospital Auxiliary is a group of dedicated volunteers who work to improve patient comfort and care.

The Queens General Hospital Auxiliary meets the first Thursday of each month, except for January, July and August. The Gift Shop continues to be managed by the Auxiliary and is doing very well. It has been successful in recruiting additional volunteers, some of which have become members of the Auxiliary.

The Book Rack at the Sobeys store, the Gift Shop and the Hospital Hustle continue to be our major fundraisers, contributing a total of approximately $35,000.00 to the Auxiliary.

Proceeds from the 2011 Hospital Hustle amounting to $19,000.00 were given to the hospital to be used for the expansion and renovations being done at the Queens General Hospital. The Auxiliary has agreed to purchase 7 wheelchairs, 1 Beriatric Chair, and 1 chair for Triage Area for a total cost of approximately $7,000.00. We continue to provide our bursaries to high school graduates who plan to take further studies in the nursing field.

Auxiliary members are visible in the community, attending various community events, doing tray favours for patients who are in the hospital over holidays, assisting with the Hospital's Wellness Day, providing refreshments for our Gift Shop's annual pre-Christmas sale and our annual donations to the Legion and the Food Bank.
