How does the clinic work?
Usually your family doctor will refer you to the clinic at the time your pregancy is confirmed. (If you do not have a family doctor or nurse practitioner you can refer yourself to the clinic.)
All clinic physicians and obstetricians work on a rotating basis. We encourage you to meet all of the clinic doctors throughout your pregnancy. This way you will have met and be familiar with the physicians who will deliver your baby.
What can I expect?
On your first visit, the doctor will do a pelvic examination. The doctor will also do a full examination including weight, blood pressure, urine analysis, fetal heart rate, size of uterus and the position of the baby. This will be repeated every time you visit the clinic.
You may be referred to an obstetrician for consultation during your pregancy.
