Fluoride Mouthrinse Program

Public Health Services offers a weekly Fluoride Mouthrinse Program to children in grades primary through six in selected elementary schools across Nova Scotia. Fluoride mouthrinse helps to build healthy teeth by allowing fluoride to coat the outer surface of teeth. This makes the tooth enamel stronger and more able to resist cavities. The program is coordinated and supported by Public Health Dental Hygienists and delivered by trained volunteers.
