Public Health works to protect the public by monitoring diseases that impact the individual and can spread to the people around them. Public Health also supports health professionals in our community with the delivery of Nova Scotia's publicly-funded immunization schedule.
Immunization protects families and communities from diseases that can be prevented with vaccines. It is also one of the easiest ways to be protected from potentially life-threatening diseases such as influenza, meningitis and chicken pox.
